Dallin's cousin Raquelle got married during the winter, but due to COVID she waited to have a reception until June. Dallin's sister Danielle booked a flight to Provo, and then the three of us drove up to Boise. We fell asleep quickly after arriving at our hotel, but the next morning we had a rude awakening when we had to evacuate the building due to a false fire alarm. During the day, we visited a farmer's market, purchased German food at a European store, checked out the capital building, drove Bird scooters around the park and river walk, and laughed as Danielle climbed over spider-infested rocks to reach a lost orca whale blowup toy. She carried it over her shoulder the rest of the scooter ride and ended up bringing it home to her son!
In the evening we went to the wedding reception with Dallin's parents, sisters, and grandparents. I met several of Dallin's cousins, aunts and uncles. The girls and I had fun trying not to knock over the giant Jenga blocks.
On the second day, we made sure to hit up Shoshone falls in the southern part of Idaho. Once we reached Salt Lake, I convinced Dallin to pull over long enough to view the Catholic cathedral, where they were actually holding mass. The Salt Lake Temple is currently under construction, so we could not walk around Temple Square. For the rest of the drive home, we listened to murder mystery podcasts.
