Beckham took his first steps a day after turning 13 months old.  That morning I had told someone he has “zero interest” in walking, but later that afternoon when he was standing against something I encouraged him to try some steps.  It took a few tries, and then he took two steps! I was squealing with excitement.  A few weeks later, he can take about 6 steps max before falling down (throwing himself into my arms), but he gets a giant smile every time.  If I tell him, “Show Grandma how you walk!” or “Walk to the kitty!” he is happy to oblige.
