My dad said that watching my reaction to him coming through the door was like watching me on Christmas morning as a tiny kid in Boston. Oh, but how could I help my elation when I was about to embark on the last great adventure of my schoolgirl years with the boy who treats me like an angel?
We went out to dinner at Charlestons, where I tried my first {virgin} Shirley Temple. I'll also admit that I felt pretty cool getting the stares from strangers as we rode around in his daddy's car. The engine roared and my heart soared and when we entered the dance, my blood rushed. The huge room was consumed by darkness and bright lights and hit music. The volleyball team and their sunglasses took the floor and when the base dropped, rhythmic flashes and spurts of CO2 turned our world into illusion. When the beat slowed, we danced.
Not gonna lie, I rocked my six-inch platforms. Not only because I was STILL tripping over my dress WITH the shoes, but because, when most of the vball boys are taller than Dallin and Dallin is over a foot taller than me... well, I would otherwise feel like I was going to be crushed when a moshpit formed. Seriously, I was having so much fun {bad dancing skills and all} I didn't ever want to leave. How could I?
After the dance, it was sprinkling. After going back to the boys' house to change and chit-chat with the parents, we met up with some other kids from the school and I happily observed a difficult game of "Honey Do You Love Me?"
Late late at night we stepped back inside my house to find my dog delivering puppies. That's one way to wrap up the night!
Thank you Dallin for ending my senior year with a bang! Reading this again, I shamefully realize this post doesn't do justice for the wonderful experience, but I think you can forgive me since it's past 1 AM haha.

Livy did my hair, a chunky dutch fishtail braid cascading into curls from her new wand, which actually works on my stick-straight hair!
Magic.
