Last night we got together with to play games and eat the brownie pops Mom made. Though the playing of dolls has been passed down to the three little girls, Rachel and I still have just as much fun as ever hanging out with Kendall and Paige.
For the first half-hour we just sat at the dining room, chatting with Mom and Aunt Sheryl. Then we wondered if we should see a movie at the dollar theater. Paige pulled out her new iPod Touch and looked up the times. The movie we wanted to see,
In Time, began in six minutes. "Dang it," we were all saying. We still really wanted to do it, but it took another three minutes trying decide if we should. Finally we decided that the previews at the beginning would give us enough time, and, giving the surprised dads quick goodbyes, we raced to the theater. It was pretty funny when we realized we got to the movie just
in time, though we had to sit in pairs throughout the theater. But it was totally worth it.
In Time takes place about 150 year in the future and everyone has been genetically engineered to stop aging once they reach 25. But the thing is, time now takes the place for money... and once your time on your forearm runs out, you're dead. So while the rich live in almost paradise, slowly waiting their hundreds or even thousands of years, the poor struggle to make it through the day.
After the movie we went back home and hung out until 11:30. We played
Balderdash and
Pictionary Man and then looked at hilarious Google suggestions. Oh my, how we were busting up. Seriously, who would've thought that 39,100,000 people would wonder, "germany is in what country?" or that thousands or millions of other people would type up, "why can a cow walk upstairs but not back downstairs," "i am extremely terrified of chinese people," "i am extremely scared of chinese people," "i am extremely afraid of chinese people," "why is that guy wearing a stupid man shirt," "why is my eye twitching," "is it normal to eat your child's toenails," etc. I won't even dare write some of the other ones, but if you're curious, just start tying, "is it normal to eat" and it'll all pop up.
When we decided it was time to go, the little girls begged the parents and were able to convince them to have a sleepover. Kendall and Paige decided not to do it, but Ryan and Megan stayed the night.
In about an hour we're meeting back up with them to go to Arizona Mills, since Rachel and I got our own $50 gift cards to Forever 21 from Grandpa Paul and Nana Hanny. I'd better get ready.
