Yesterday was Adam's 8th birthday. We woke up, and then had chocolate chip pancakes as Adam said he wanted. Then we went to school...
Lately Adam has been saying he really wants a beadrded dragon, a type of lizzard.
So after we home from school, Eric told Adam, "Your not gonna get a bearded dragon."
"Shhh, Eric." said Mom.
"Wait," Adam said. "So I'm not getting a bearded dragon?!"
Mom sighed. "Sorry, Adam, but we just couldn't get you one. Is that okay?"
Adam sighed. "Yeah... I guess..." His voice sounded really sad, and then he sighed again. "Well, I really wanted a bearded dragon."
"Well," Dad suddenly piped in. "We did get you a new backpack! Is that an okay present?"
"Yeah, I guess," Adam said again.
"Your cousins are coming over soon, so before your cousins get here and before we show you the backpack, how 'bout we hide the backpack upstairs and then you go and find it.
They hid the backpack, and Adam went up to find it. It took me a couple minutes before I went upstairs, and when I did, I found the backpack right next to a huge tank...
And would you guess what it was?
Not a bearded dragon, but I type of lizzard even better!
"Thank you!" Adam exclaimed after holding the new pet, Rocky. "This is the best birthday present EVER!!"
I guess that'll one more pet on the pet list; I'm not sure if you've seen the post from a couple weeks ago about our pets...

Summer is always one of our favorite parts of the year, but we can't have it forever.....
Helloooo, school!
School started August 6th. I am very disappointed to say that summer becomes shorter and shorter every year... For example two years ago the 1st day of school was August 12! I don't know why they decide to make us kids suffer by making a shorter summer, but they do.
This year I am in 6th grade. Rachel is in 5th. Adam is in 2nd, Livy 1st, and Eric is doing his second year of preschool. Sophie.... well I'll just say she pretty much is too young for school. I can't believe I'm actually the top of the school!! :D
I hope this will be good year!

Since school starts tomorrow, this poem I created in May, 2008 is dedicated to summer...

All of you know about my obsession about Titanic. I know almost every answer, can draw the Titanic in a way that it actually looks like her, and much more. In 4th grade every time I'd say anything that had to do with the ship (and even any other ship that sunk, which I have to say I'm not that, uh, big about the sinking of other ships, or at least not as much as the Titanic...) my friends would groan.
But now....
Anastasia.
While my family and I were in San Clemente, I watched the movie Anastasia. I had seen this movie before when I was younger, but I had never understood it. I didn't know that Anastasia was a real princess. In fact I didn't even know Anastasia was a princess... even in the movie!!! So while the movie was paused my mom explained the story of the Russian family, and the massacre in 1918. Then she said that years later they did not find her body, so pretty much Anastasia had escaped. Well yesterday I asked my cousin if she had seen the movie. She said yes and then my other cousin said something about teenagers finding her bodie a few months ago, so she actually hadn't escaped. I was really shocked. So since last night at midnight I have been totally into looking at pictures of her and looking at stuff on the Internet about her and asking my mom and my cousins about her.
So beware. This obsession could last one week or still not be over after two years (like Titanic). But don't get me wrong, I am still COMPLETELY into Titanic. There's nothing wrong with having two obsessions, is there?
