Today, as I was putting down my book (the seventh volume of The Work and the Glory which I have just started), I heard two girls apologize to another girl beside me.  I guessed one of them had said something inappropriate. 
  "You are Mormon, aren't you?" they asked her.
  "Yes," she replied.
  "Mormons are so good."
  One of the girls used to go to my elementary school.  Seeing I had heard part of the conversation, she turned to me and asked if I was Mormon, too.   She seemed unsurprised when I said yes.  The two girls then gave more compliments on our church, saying that Mormons are so nice and smart, etc.
  That just made me realize how true it is when our leaders tell us that we are being constantly watched.  Just by doing what we normally do, which can seem like nothing, we can make really make an impact on what people think of us.  That's why it is so important that we choose the right and set the perfect example so that others may possibly realize that we are members of the only true church of God.

  Lately Mr. Adam has been obsessed with cooking.  Out of the blue!  For a while he kept begging my parents to let him make a certain kind of fruit salad.  He wanted to help my mom make dinner another time.
  Last Sunday he decided to surprise us with a milkshake.  It didn't go at all with dinner... and it was pretty funky.  He put in chocolate ice cream "because there's no vanilla," grapes "because there are no strawberries," and some other things.  He was about to add orange juice (because that's what my parents put in the power smoothie every morning to make it more of a drink), but then my mom found him and quickly told him to put in milk instead.  He topped it with whipped cream and poured some for everyone.  I took one sip and had to sneak it to Sophie (all the little ones loved it).  Maybe it was because I was too depressed after reading Mockingjay to try to eat something that creative.  I felt bad.
  Yesterday I was upstairs writing on Sugar and Spice when I heard the clanking of dishes downstairs.  After a couple minutes I went to see who was doing it when I found Adam, hiding in the corner of the kitchen with a large bowl of pancake batter.
  "What are you doing?"
   "Shhh!  I am trying to surprise everyone with pancakes!"
  "Ummm... Adam?  It's Fast Sunday..."
   I think we're going to use that batter today.
  Isn't it funny how younger ones suddenly want to everything of something?  Well, I guess that's just how I was.

A few mornings ago my bus driver told us that our bus was too full, and she would probably stop driving one of the stops.  That afternoon, my neighborhood (the biggest stop) had to wait twenty minutes in the heat before another bus came and picked us up.  We decided that the sweat was worth it, because we were finally able to get a bus all to ourselves.  The driver told us he would pick us up the next morning.
Except, he forgot us.  We waited for a whole half hour.  We had fun chatting, but I was a bit concerned about my Spanish test, having that first period.  The bus didn't arrive until the very minute school was supposed to start.  It ended up being the bus driver who kicked us off in the first place, having already picked up and dropped off the other students and then realized that we had been abandoned.  Fortunately, the Spanish test was just barely about to start once I got there.
The next morning we didn't get on the bus until the time the warning bell is supposed to ring (six minutes before school starts) .  On one of the afternoons we were stuck in a bus with a bunch of other kids who got kicked off their buses.  We had to wait while other kids got dropped off at these other stops.  When we thought we were finally almost home, the bus driver pulled into the parking lot at Fresh and Easy.  Then she made a whole circle that took forever and pulled back out to go the other direction.  Apparently she had forgotten one of the stops.  Great, we thought.  That stop was in a neighborhood right next to the store, but we could not even feel the AC and were dying to get home.

Finally it has been settled with us getting back on the original bus and the two smaller stops... I don't know what happened to them...   Eighth grade is so much fun now that there are seventh graders like Rachel and Taylor.  We get to talk and have fun every bus ride.
...I just hope we don't get assigned seats that separate us...
