This weekend we shared our first weekend alone together in weeks. Most weekends he is gone playing volleyball in San Diego, but this time I had him all to myself.
Dallin is my best friend, and no one makes me laugh more than him. Several days a week he will complain that we can't "stay in bed and cuddle all day" instead of going to school, and though he goes to bed much later than I, I can always count on him scooping me up in his arms once he decides to go to sleep. I'm not the best cuddle buddy when I'm sleeping; most nights, he tells me later, I push him away. Sorry babe!
Dallin on the other hand is quite the wild sleeper. I always know when he's going to sleep talk because he'll shoot straight up. Here are a few of the more amusing instances:
-A few weeks ago he was talking in Canadian and Australian accents.
-Yesterday he moaned, "Ewww! That's so gross!" I decided to play along and asked, "What's gross?" "Cooper ate a shrimp off the ground! It's been there for two weeks!" Mind you, this is not the first time he's had this dream.
-Best of all, a few months ago he woke me up by climbing over me and then grabbing my charging phone with annoyance. "I need to plug in the program!" He climbed to the foot of the bed, trying to find the other outlet, and then said, "I need light." He staggered out of bed and rammed his face SMACK into wall! "Owww!" he whined. He turned on the bedroom light, then turned that back off and turned on the hall light. "That hurt really bad! Why are you laughing at me? He proceeded to search under the bed. "The freaking snakes got away!"
"What snakes? Are they poisonous?" I implored.
"No, they're the snakes with the eyes with the colors, I mean the numbers." He slid back into bed, and I had to beg him to turn the lights back out.
The next morning he swore he'd been awake for the whole thing. I promised that he hadn't.
