Haley texted us on Tuesday with ideas for a girl's trip: "Let's surprise Paige and take her to Vegas!" Quite spontaneously, we found a hotel, got on a waiting list for a club, and then told Paige to do all of her homework on Friday and to have her bags packed by Saturday. Rachel, Haley and I picked her up early in the morning and we're off! We hit the road, refusing to tell her where we were going. Chelsea called from Ethiopia, not knowing that we were all together. Sorry you had to miss out, Chels! By the time we had been driving south for a few hours, it was pretty obvious to Paige where we were headed.

We were shocked when we came to our "hotel" and realized that it was a condo bigger than my apartment! We hot tubbed and swam in the pool for a long time, glad to enjoy warm weather after several weeks of fall in Utah. Then we dressed ourselves up to the nines and took the shuttle to the strip. We wouldn't be hitting the club until 10:30, so Rachel and I quickly regretted our heels. But at least we looked good, right?

We strutted around various hotels and casinos. Though I wasn't in the mood to lose money, it was funny to watch as my friends put in $2 with the hope of getting miraculously lucky. One of the bouncers asked if we were over 21 because they looked so much like they had no idea! We're so innocent, haha. When they said it was their first time, she warned them to be careful. For dinner we shared a massive brownie milkshake and sandwiches. At this point, Rachel and I were limping, but we managed to survive long enough to get into the club, watching amusedly as drunk people flirted with each other. We just danced like we were 16 and at homecoming all over again--short on dance skills, equipped with bubbly attitudes. We lasted about fifteen minutes before we decided to head back to the hotel--8.6 miles in 6" heels was quite enough without the dancing.
The next day, we got gelato at the Venetian and enjoyed delicious French food inside the Vegas Eiffel Tower. The restaurant was so elegant, meanwhile we were the cheap college students who each split meals with each other. We definitely didn't fit in. Oh well, it was worth it!
Then we headed back home, listening to Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton. When we got stuck in traffic outside the gorge, we befriended people in the cars next to us.
