Over the spring break my mom and I got to go to Boston to pick up a new Coton de Tuliear puppy named Ziva. While we were there, we visited lots of our old friends from when we lived there and saw neat, OLDER scenes. For most of the time we stayed with the Menzies and for one night at the Mannings.
On the way to the big city Boston (our friends actually live in Shrewsberry) we got to stop at the beach for a couple of minutes. Naturally I wanted to go sea it (Whoops, that was a typo. But I think I'll leave it cause it's pretty funny.). So I took off my Uggs, rolled up my pants, and Christina and I walked along the shore for a few minutes, adoring the cool breeze, the giant shells, and the feel of sand between our toes. I especially loved the way that oceans are so fantastically blue and stretch on for eternity.
Here is the only picture I could find of cute little Ziva. She is pretty funny. At our house, we have a big whelping box for when our dogs have puppies. To prevent puppies getting suffocated when they crawl behind their mama, we have thin beams mounted just three or four inches off the ground on all four sides. This way, if they go behind her, they are small enough to be underneath the beams and not be smashed. Anyway... We sometimes put Ziva in the whelping box because their is a doggie door. She gets kind of upset because she likes to be with us, so she will use the beams as a vault and then leap over the whelping box. She is a little three
pound ball of fluff- and the whelping box is like three
feet tall! I'm surprised she hasn't broken her neck or something already! But I'll tell you, she stopped EVERYONE in the airport!
In Boston, like I said, there were many AMAZING things to see. Sorry I don't have more pictures, but we saw Paul Revere's house, the Old North Church, Bunker Hill, and just plain history. Arizona is exactly 99 years old, which is young compared to Massachusetts and doesn't have anything close to the number of "artifacts."
On Saturday we went to Maine. In Arizona, it takes hours just to get out of the giant state, but we got to Maine in just an hour-and-a-half, going through another state on the way. When we got there, it was snowing, which a drastic contrast to 90 degrees in AZ when we left. During our whole vacation, it was really cool to look at the plaques on different houses saying what year they were built. One of the churches in Maine was built in 1638. Even GEORGE WASHINGTON would have called it old! The thought is dizzying.
We went to two antique shops on our trip. In AZ, the people try to make their antique shops look old, but back East, they really
are! So, I like getting cute new clothes, but I don't like
shopping (as I'm sure Christina learned when we spent an hour in Charlotte Rousse and I became bored and wanting to leave after the first ten or twenty minutes.) But they had to
drag me out of the antique stores!

During the trip, we also got to visit Franklin (where we used to live) and see our old houses, visit our old ward (that was really fun, despite me not remembering most of the people), etc.
The whole thing was a blast, and I can't wait to go again with my family over the summer!
