Oh, how I ❤ my fabulous siblings. I can't help but laugh as they fall for our tricks and so innocently strive to believe in the best of everything.
For example, when Rachel showed them Peter's Answers. It's an "online tarot," and if you only petition the fantastical Peter, saying, "Peter, please answer the following question," he will reveal to you the past, present, and future. At least, that's what my siblings thought. Really, when you know the trick, all you have to do is type " . " at the beginning and then write the answer. But because you wrote the " . " it instead looks as if you're writing the petition. Then when you ask for the answer, Peter has somehow magically given you the answer. Adam, Olivia, Eric and Sophie were mesmerized! As it turned out {it was all Rachel and I could do to keep from busting up as they gawked}: Adam's Lego guy's hair was long ago sucked up by the vacuum cleaner,
Livvy's going to have children in the exact order that the ring test predicted,
we ate white cheddar pasta shells for lunch, Sophie's going to go on a mission to Rio {her dream place to vacation after seeing the movie Rio},
Eric's going to marry and have twelve children with Natalie Heywood,
and Livvy's also going to die of some rare African disease {I quickly kicked Rachel under the table before leaning over to type "just kidding!"}.
While we were doing this, Sophie kept telling us about how she was gonna have twenty-seven kids.
"That'll be a lot of birthday parties," Eric mused.
Sophie gasped. "Twenty-seven birthday parties!!??? MY KIDS ARE GONNA BE SO LUCKY!" We laughed. Having just experienced Sophie's 6th birthday party in May, I secretly had to disagree with the "lucky" part of that exclamation. She continued her usual blabbering. "I'm gonna have twenty-seven kids and put them all on chairs."
"What?" I said in reply to her complete oddity, but she didn't try to explain. Instead the bubbly look on her face melted and she murmured in shocked realization-
"That's a lot of chairs."
At this point we didn't even try to understand. But she kept talking. "Rachel, how do babies get in your tummy?"
"Uhhh...."
"Do I have babies in my tummy?"
"Well, no..."
Sophie just shook her head in confusion. "But Rachel, how do babies get in your tummy?"
"Um, well I guess, uh, maybe Heavenly Father just blesses you when you love your husband enough....?"
Sophie considered that. "Twenty-seven kids... Do babies come in through your belly-button?"
Olivia giggled, though she was just as confused. Rachel and I glanced at each other. "Uh, I don't-"
"Do they come out your belly button?"
At this point we just patted her on the back and answered, "Sure, honey. Sure."
