To me, Easter is about new beginnings.
It's rather strange; my whole life I've been in this comfortable little bubble where the routine stays relatively the same, where the people I know stay in the same place, where there's nothing at all to worry about except for perhaps the upcoming math test. But now, all of a sudden, all these people I've known since I was a tiny little kid are either getting their mission calls or getting excepted into college. What the heck? I'm not quite there yet, but it's still crazy to think that that'll be me in just a year-- and a year isn't really that long since it seems like just yesterday that I was blogging for the last Easter. So one short year and perhaps a couple months and then I'll be off on my terrifying adventure of a New Beginning called college. Am I scared? Yeah. Excited? Definitely, but I'm gonna have to figure out how to pay for my Graphic Design courses. I'll probably have to cut down to two meals a day so I can afford the roof over my head {haha}.
Exciting and different as these New Beginnings are, though, the New Beginnings offered this holiday are even greater and more beautiful. Because of Jesus Christ, we are able to become better people. We can find solace in our hardships and ease our regret through repentance, like an eraser on a whiteboard, to give us a second chance. Because of Him, this crazy gang of my family will have to deal with me for eternity. Because of Him and the terrible burdens He was willing to endure, we are able to return to our Father clean and pure as long as we put forth our best efforts to earn it.
It's beautiful, really.
