Shortly before I returned home from Germany, I had a few people suggest to me that I was making a mistake by coming home for four months rather than going straight off to school. I became really nervous and started to second guess my plans.
One month later, I am unbelievably glad that I stayed.
I'll be honest. I still don't feel like the old Katie. I have felt rather antisocial, I went through a couple weeks of being constantly down, I am 100% incapable of relaxing, and sometimes the future makes me anxious. But that being said... it has been so GREAT to just be with the family, because there is no place like home.
Where else would I constantly run errands with my mom cause I just like being hooked at her hip? Where else would I splay out on the rug with Olivia to FaceTime Rachel and chat about boys? Where else would I help Adam chalk his darling girlfriend's driveway or ask Sophie and Eric to help me bake brownie-bottom chocolate-chip-cookie-dough cheesecake bars? Where else would I have my daddy making sure I take it easy when I get sick with bronchitis (.....again.......)?

My grandma and grandpa had been begging me to join them at Zur Kate's Bavarian restaurant for months, so it was so fun as they asked for food recommendations and told the neighboring table all about my living in Europe.
I was so happy to get a text from Jerrae suggesting we go out to gelato... turns out I'm not the only one who, once upon a time, was so addicted that I would eat it almost every day.... I love her!
I've gotten into the swing of things at work and am there normally 9-5. Tasks include invoicing, shipping, sorting, and helping package clothes behind the scene of live selling shows.

I'm not totally sure what the future's going to hold. It's nerve-wracking, it's exciting. But for these next short couple months, I hope to soak in my home and make the best of this precious time, because I already know that people grow up way too fast.
