This week, the taste buds have been thoroughly treated. Living in Provo means two things: I am surrounded by old friends, and there is an endless assortment of cute and creative restaurants wherein such old friends can catch up. We took Lindsey out for her birthday {two weeks late...}, oohing over Haley's new wedding album and ahhing over Lindsey's baby niece's pics.
On March 14, Dallin showered me with hilarious texts about Pi-Day, and we went on a date with all sorts of random activities to honor the late genius Archimedes. Eating free pie... calculating the circumference of a rock {which was oval, so for the life of us we could not get our basic phone calculators to get it right}... sneaking around finding house #314... searching out circular objects at the grocery store...

Then Sister Price --I mean MIRANDA-- and I finally got together to whip up some gourmet German entrees. We had talked about it ever since our three-way Skype call with our Kenyan friend Kevin in Vienna. Thank heavens Walmart has rotkraut! We cooked up Spätzle with mushroom gravy, and whilst listening to German pop she taught me the easy steps to make schnitzel! {Though it's probably much easier to cook if your beating the pork with a hammer and not a frying pan #collegelife}
| step one: cover the pork in flour, then eggs, then breadcrumbs |
| step two: deep fry it. voila. |
| Spätzle is literally just dough made out of flour, egg, water, and salt shredded in a cheese-grater looking contraption into boiling water, removed with a ladle the second it floats to the top |
Other fun this week: Paige, Rachel and I dressed up with every ounce of determination to party it up. No movie this time, we decided! But after an hour of disagreeing and shooting down each others' ideas, we accidentally wound up on the couch yet again watching bizarre SNL skits. Whoops!
