We awoke bright and early and headed down the Canyon. Provo is funny like that -- one moment, you're surrounded by clunky billboards and mix-matched buildings {and not to mention that gosh-dang construction that prevents you from pulling into your own apartment} and the next, the road plunges you into into a green sea of trees. The boys were absolutely convinced that the trailhead marked "Stuart Falls" was not actually the trail to Stuart Falls, and that we instead needed to follow the Timp trail, but we survived our decision to take the former path and after a nice little hike through woods and meadows, we indeed found the gushing cascades.
I was all in on the adventure -- I wove wildflowers into my hair and stepped through the chilly stream towards the raining falls... because why not? On the way back, Mom and I let the other three hike ahead whilst we chatted about deep subjects. Afterwards, she treated us to grilled cheese and cupcakes at the famous Cravings. That night, we all made pizookies, pulled muscles playing the paper bag game, and almost gave my computer trying to watch Hot Rod.
