One step
And I'm plummeting
Angel falling with a lack of wings
Phenomena of breathless descent
Black poplar decisions
Praying gravity relent
Out of kaleidescope
Into the world
Red euphoria simply leaves me unfurled
But suddenly I see, head titled slight
That dusk is the mother of
A comet-reined night
Catch me
My blue eyes gaze
Now I'm snug in safe arms
My tangled heart is ablaze
And all the while I wonder
How slim the chances prove
That when diving towards the unknown
A sure-foot landing will approve
I smile, you smile
An earth doused in warmth
Yet chills race through me
And the truth comes forth
The beat in my breast
Sings in synch with this wonder
And without it now I can't lie in rest
