- Free time- I get lots of hours to lock myself in my room to write or draw. And I swear I've written as much in two or three weeks than I would in two or three months over the school year!
- Being myself- Since I'm usually just at home, I can basically sing whatever I want, whenever I want. My new favorite thing to do is to find songs that I like, print out the free sheet music, and teach myself to sing them as I play them on the piano.
- Absurdity happens- On Wednesday I got randomly asked to teach the Boy Scouts. Ummm... sure? My dad is the Scout master, but just a little before I was supposed to go, he called saying that he was getting the car fixed and wasn't done. He wanted me to get them started. The only reason he had wanted me to teach them in the first place was to teach them about art (though I've hardly taken any classes myself). There was no way I could actually do the rest of the activity! Luckily I didn't have to do that. He came, and I was just able to teach them about art, which I was happy to do. Though let me say, I am spoiled rotten. I hadn't realized how truly sweet and calm my brothers actually are until I taught this class with a bunch of normal boys!
- Hanging out with friends- That basically says it all. And I love it. We've gotten to go to the movies (and see Soul Surfer, the best, most clean and inspiring movie in the world), swim, I've gotten to cheer Paige on at her synchro meet (that she got first place at), go to a stake dance, and simply stay up late chatting...
- Water- We've gone swimming too much. But, oh man, Sophie- In just an hour, she went from being terrified of the water to becoming a total fish, when Dad worked with her. Ahh! We have to watch her like a hawk! I'm starting to think her dream of becoming a "beautiful pink mermaid" just might come true!
- Heat- Like 114°F.
