It's true. I really am a hawk. A teal and black one.
Anyway, tonight was my last chance to be a cheerleader, at least as a Freshman. {Though it's really weird to think that, if something bad happened with tryouts for next year, that it could have been my last chance altogether.} We had to promote the Highland cheer program because it was the oncoming freshman orientation night.
So we wore our uniforms and made ourselves look as girly yet professional as possible. Being the artsy/completely OCD person that I am, I had quite a fun time making sure I looked perfect for the thousand people coming with huge curled hair and pink lipstick and slightly glittered eyeshadow. {I still have to get used to the liquid eyeliner Mom bought; it probably looked really thick when I put it on, but I guess it worked for the dramatic look I was going for.} Can't you tell I'm a girl?
Once the eighth graders and there parents started filing in, we began handing out flyers. Though some of the girls stayed at the little cheer table, me and two of the other girls wove our way through the huge crowd. I was actually shocked at how many eighth grader friends I have, though that's probably because they are Rachel's friends too. We also did some cheer and even threw together a stunt. It was pretty fun!
Though to be honest, seeing all those younger people just made me want to be a sophomore. I'm tired of being the little kids of the school!
This weekend is Marvel-themed Morp. I'm not going, of course, since I'm fifteen {sixteen in 8 months, 1 day, 1 hour, 50 minutes, and counting} but it's been Spirit Week to celebrate. Monday was pajama day, but I wasn't sure if I should do it. I brought my pajama pants, and after driving myself crazy for a few hours after thinking about how fun it would be, finally put them on after third hour. It was pretty comfy, to tell you the truth. I haven't done much for the rest of the week, though I did wear a small bracelet from Ethiopia for Around the World Day, and I think tomorrow I'll just wear one of my skirts from either Naartjie or The Children's Place for Little Kid Day. I know, it's sad that I still fit into them even though I bought them back when shopping at those stores was acceptable for my age. They are pretty stylish though!
It's fun being a high school student. Though I don't understand why my English teacher made us put our heads on our desks for ten minutes yesterday.
Go Hawks!
