Buckle-up, kids-- it's time for an adventure and our destination is nowhere. With a borrowed car and an aux cord we drove across the island, blasting our favorite tunes at the top of the stereo-- and our lungs-- while we gazed at the beautiful jungle and misty mountains racing past us.
We stopped at the gorgeous and serene Byuodo-In Buddhist Temple, where the bonshō thronged and the breeze was light with the scent of incense and bamboo. Birds perched on people's hands and the koi slurped at the water's edge, while barefooted worshipers bowed their head before Buddha.
We also felt like high schoolers all over again when we found the mall {including the holiday-scented Bath and Body}, but I felt way too grown-up when I had to buy my own groceries at Target since I'm switching to a meal plan that only lets me eat in the cafeteria five days a week. Then we headed over to Waikiki and were absolutely ecstatic to hear from one of our friend's mothers that she had booked us a hotel room! After driving around {quite lost} for a while and then checking into the Marriott {complete with a jacuzzi!}, we ordered a delicious CA Pizza Kitchen dinner and then changed into dresses {plus in my case my favorite blinged-out, six-inch platforms}. Party time! With the girlfriends together, we could be as wild as we wanted and just laugh our heads off and enjoy our last bits of fall break. It's hilarious how much we accused one another of being "bad girls" since we're all a bunch of innocent BYU students and probably looked so silly struttin' through the streets, but oh was it fun! When the time came to slip in bed, we laughed over this and that for only a little before completely crashing-- what a day well spent.
