For July 4th, the cousins came over. Basically, we swam, ate, and chatted. Good ol' fashioned American holiday.
The great thing about the Dave Lundgreen family is that the kids line up perfectly, age-wise, with the ones in my family. The two oldest in both families are girls, making the group of "the four big girls," though usually we pair off so its Kendall and me and then Rachel and Paige. Then their Ryan is right in the middle of Adam and Eric, and Megan's right in between Livy and Sophie.
Traditionally we go see the fireworks, but this time we just had our own little 30-second sparklers. Good enough. Though, if I were in charge, we would have at least sung some American songs to make up for it, but apparently I'm the only "music geek" in the family. Music "geek"?! Ugh.
Then the little kids convinced the adults to let us all have a sleepover. Those silly little girls found Megan some jammies {"They even found me some underwear!" "Uhhh... Good for you, Megan?"} before they even asked about the sleepover. So us "big girls" just went back to our cousins by ourselves. Rachel, Paige, and I watched A Walk to Remember before going to bed.
The next morning, Rachel and Paige decided they wanted to make/decorate cupcakes. So we dropped them off at my house, picked up my mom, and Mom, Aunt Sheryl, Kendall, and I went shopping.
24 hours of being together. It was pretty fun.
